Large Navy Frog Diaper Tote

May 25th, 2005

frog bagThis is a diaper bag that I made for my sister Tiffany, for the arrival of her new baby boy, Gabriel. I thought that the frogs would be really nice for a boy and that doing the bag in colors that weren’t really babyish would make the bag useful for longer! I used a pattern that I bought at the store, but modified it to look more like a diaper bag. It is double lined with interfacing and very sturdy. I put a pocket on the front as well as inside. Once I was done with it, I didn’t want to give it to her, but I did. I will just have to make another one for myself (in girly colors, maybe)!

Butterfly Doll Quilt

May 25th, 2005

quilt & pillowI made this quilt for my niece, Halo, for her birthday. It was an experiment, as I had not made any kind of quilt yet. It turned out cute, but the binding was a little tricky. I will need some practice with that. It turned out well for her present though; I’ve been told that she loves it!

Fourth of July Tote Bag

Fourth ToteThis tote bag actually started out as an idea for a quilt. I had planned to make a small pinwheel quilt to hang on the wall, but once I had the pinwheels made I decided a tote bag would be really neat. I think it turned out really well and I hate to part with it, but I have the supplies to make one more and it was made to sell! The bag measures 11″ W x 10.5″ H x 3″ with 2 – 24″ handles. The fabric has different star, stripe & flag designs, with a dark red lining and navy bottom and sides.
